Will there be a shared account, separate accounts, or both? Who will write out the bills? There are so many questions to ask, and it’s better to ask them before you walk down the aisle. Make sure you’re both on the same financial page.
Kids or No Kids?
The days are fast disappearing where society assumes a married couple will have children. Many people are opting to remain child-free. It’s vitally important you discuss this with your mate before the two of you tie the knot.
Where Will You Live?
For some people, moving across the country for a great job offer is a given. For others, it’s a no-go. Talk about where you see yourselves in 5 or 10 years.
Will you start your own traditions right away, or go to someone’s parents house for the holidays? This can be a sticky subject, and probably someone is going to have hurt feelings. But the earlier you set up your own holiday traditions, the better off you will be.
Particularly if you’ve decided to have children with your mate, you need to discuss if there will be religious education. Get to know how important religion is to your future spouse.
