Don’t disappoint the love of your life with a boring proposal that’s been done to death. Make your proposal unique and tailor it to your fiancée. Show her you really know who she is and propose in a way that will create a story she will enjoy retelling for years to come.

 

For the Horse Lover

Know what she likes and incoropate that into the proposal.

If your girl loves horses, and especially if she has one of her own, visit her at the stables and propose to her there. Ladies who love horses consider the animals a very special part of their lives.

Catch her while she’s giving her equine friend a treat, and slip the ring box into her hand in place of a carrot.

Or ask her to take you for a short double ride and slip the ring on her finger while you’re riding with your arms around her. Just take care not to leave the ring where the horse will accidentally swallow it.

 

The Summer Proposal

A summertime proposal provides a variety of creative options. Ask her to marry you while watching the 4th of July fireworks on a blanket with a couple of glasses of wine. Visit a laid-back small town festival and propose while listening to a local orchestra in the park. Plan a picnic at the park or a nice dinner at the beach.

Or visit a cool, dark art museum on an overly hot and humid day and propose to her under her favorite painting. The starkly contrasting elements will be called to mind each and every time she tells the story of the day you asked her to marry you.

 

On the Wine Trail

Propose while walking through a lush vineyard or in a winery.

Spend a sunny fall afternoon visiting several small local wineries. Choose an area with an organized winery tour, such as the Wabash Valley Wine Trail which runs along a scenic route through the Wabash River Valley in Eastern Illinois and Western Indiana.

Along the way, be on the lookout for a scenic spot where you can easily get down on one knee and pop the question. Ask her in a local vineyard, or in one of the wineries themselves. The combination of the scenery and the ambiance of the wineries–not to mention the mood set by a day of wine tastin– will make this special day one to remember.
