Positive Affirmations to Feel Better

An affirmation is generated by almost every thought you have. Depending on what you’re thinking about, every single thought lends a subconscious opinion to whatever happens to be on your mind. A positive affirmation can be used to strengthen your resolve in any matter.

People use positive affirmations to change the way they think about certain things. They might use them for specific situations or just for life in general.

Positive Affirmations

Self-Esteem

Positive affirmations that improve your self-esteem are used to simply make yourself feel better about your life in general or a particular situation. There are a lot of different positive affirmations that will improve your self-esteem.

“I have the power to change myself” gives you strength and helps you believe that you do indeed have the power over your own fate; “I deserve to be loved” is a positive affirmation of your human worth. It tells your subconscious that you’re just as good as other people and you deserve the same happiness.

Kids

Just like adults, kids feel stress. Children need to be able to make themselves feel better in their world. Children can use positive affirmations to make life in school easier and more emotionally fulfilling.

Something as simple as “I love learning” or “I like attending school” repeated enough times can be enough to make children want to try harder in school. If a child is feeling self conscious about not being able to make friends, she might try something like “people like me because of my happy personality.”

Dieting

People can also use positive affirmations to make themselves feel better about attempting to lose weight. As with all goals you set for yourself, it helps if you can believe that your goals are attainable.

Encouraging yourself with positive affirmations will help you feel good about making progress toward those goals. Affirmations such as “I think before eating” and “healthy foods taste better” are two statements designed to convince you that you are actually enjoying your dieting journey.

Work

A lot stress originates at the workplace. Attacking your work with a positive attitude and with positive affirmations is a great way to get a handle on things. Before you go to work, try starting your day with an affirmation such as “I am a powerful person who is unaffected by the negative words and attitudes of others.”

Affirmations that make you feel better about work will help you get through the day and will help you prepare for the next day’s challenges. Something like “every day in every way I’m getting better and better” will help you gain confidence in your daily work practices.
