1. Make An Appointment To See Your Physician

Before a woman begins trying to get pregnant she should see her physician for a full wellness checkup.

 

2. Have Medical History Ready

Before the exam, be sure to make notes about any illness, family history, previous pregnancies and menstrual cycle history including the first-ever menstruation and last menstruation before the appointment.

 

3. Ask Questions

While there, discuss pregnancy plans and questions with the doctor.

 

4. Ask About Prescriptions And Recreational Drugs

Before getting pregnant women should stop smoking, using recreational drugs and some prescription drugs. A physician can help a woman stop smoking or using drugs.

Also, a doctor can prescribe new medication that are not harmful to the fetus if a woman is currently taking a prescription medicine that is not for use while pregnant or nursing.

 

5. Ask For Help With Weight İssues

While many very thin women and very large women successfully get pregnant, too little or too much body fat can interrupt the hormone levels in the body according to the National Institute for Health.

Be sure to ask a doctor if you are within the typical "healthy" weight range. If you're not, find out what steps you can take to move within that range.

 

6. Ask For A Prenatal Vitamin Prescription

In the early weeks of pregnancy folic acid is important to prevent birth defects; often a women doesn't realize she's pregnant until after this critical time has passed. Those preparing to get pregnant should take a prenatal vitamin before, during and after conception.

Temperature must be taken before getting out of bed or doing anything else.

 

4. Record And Monitor Your Basal Temperature Throughout Your Cycle

A rise in temperature indicates ovulation has taken place. Using your chart, you can begin to predict your time of ovulation.
