How Big Is Disneyland California?

When it opened on July 17, 1955, Disneyland started with only 18 attractions. Today, it has more than 60 and is part of a resort that includes the California Adventure theme park, the Downtown Disney shopping center and three hotels.

Disneyland’s ride quality, customer service, cleanliness and size keep bringing customers back.

 

Size

According to the “Walt Disney Company Factbook 2008,” Disneyland occupies 85 acres. California Adventure takes 55 acres.

 

Resort

The “Walt Disney Company Factbook 2008” also says that the Disneyland Resort sprawls over 510 acres, which includes 461 acres owned by the company and 49 leased from the city of Anaheim.

 

Hotels

The resort’s Grand Californian, Paradise Pier and Disneyland Hotels boast 2,195 rooms and 186,000 square feet of meeting space.

 

Parking

The “Mickey & Friends” parking structure can house approximately 10,000 vehicles. When it opened in 2000, it was the largest parking structure in North America.

 

Visitors

Since opening day more than 50 years ago, Disneyland has received more than 500 million visitors. A one-day park ticket costs $69 for adults and $59 for children as of mid-2019.
