Ways to Say I’m Sorry & I Love You
A healthy relationship requires more than merely saying “I love you” and “I’m sorry.” It takes showing each other in non-verbal ways, as well. Taking the time to do things for each other and show you care is often a more effective way to communicate love.
Doing something special show you are really sorry for something you did wrong. A relationship is not going to last long if it is not built on true feelings and love for each other. You know your partner and what they like, but surprise her in new ways, too.
Little Actions
Showing simple acts of love is one of the best ways to show love or apologize. Take the time to pack his lunch in the morning, put toothpaste on his toothbrush, make the bed or put gas in the car before he does. Little acts of kindness put a smile on your partner’s face and make his day run more smoothly.
Leave a Note
Say I love you by placing an unexpected note where it will be found by your significant other. Put it by the bathroom sink, in the steam on the mirror, in her lunch bag or briefcase or under her pillow. Taking the time to put your feelings into words makes your significant other see just how much you love her.
Plan a Romantic Date
Surprise your significant other by planning out the details of a date. Make all the reservations ahead of time, whether you plan to get out to eat or have a quiet evening at home. Find a babysitter if you have kids and take time to focus on each other.
Chances are both of you could use more time together and your significant other will be pleasantly surprised by your thoughtfulness. Try to have regular date nights.
Physical Affection
Having time to be close to your significant other is an important part of your relationship, and must not be confined only to the bedroom. Hold hands when you are out, cuddle and watch a movie or read a good book. Take the time to sit close and just talk. Make partner feel like she can confide in you and that you are best friends.
Get/ Give Massages
Give a massage to each other or go get a couples massage. Either way, massage therapy is an effective way to relieve stress and bond as a couple. Decreasing stress help things run more smoothly in your relationship and busy lifestyle.
Cook for Each Other
They say the way to a man’s heart is through his stomach. Cook a romantic candle light meal or take a picnic lunch outdoors. Men may trade off and cook for her sometimes as well. She will enjoy the break from cooking and appreciate that you took the time to make something for her.
Take a Trip Together
A trip does a lot to bring a couple closer together. Whether it is an overnight bed and breakfast, a weekend away or a longer summer trip, getting away from home is relaxing. Vacations give both of you a break from worrying about work, cooking and cleaning and allow more time to focus on each other.
Give a Thoughtful Gift
Perhaps your partner has really been wanting a something new, but is not going to get it for himself. Surprise him by getting it, even for no occasion except because you love him. This is most effective when it is something individual and unique to what your significant other likes.
