The Bichon Frise is a pleasant, intelligent companion dog that is thought to be hypoallergenic because it barely sheds.

The Bichon Frise is always white, but might have cream- or buff-colored areas. The hair is somewhat coarse and puffy, making it look very much like a stouter version of the poodle.

This dog was first recognized by the American Kennel Club in 1972 and is classified as a non-sporting breed.

 

Temperment

The Bichon is a naturally happy and mild-mannered. It are inquisitive and easily trained, making Bichons ideal companion animals.

 

History

The breed was originally recognized in the 13th century and was popular among French royalty during the 16th century.

 

Breed Origin

It is thought that this dog is a descendant of the Water Spaniel.
